Auritec – Audiometry Systems
Development of the AT2000 audiometer for medical and diagnostic use in hospitals and specialized hearing centers
Our approach and solutions.
For professional hearing diagnostics, an audiometer system was to be developed that combines the highest technical standards with regulatory compliance. The following project stages show how IMM supported the customer from development through to series production.
Starting point
Auritec develops medical systems in the field of audiometry. For use in hospitals and specialized diagnostic facilities, an audiometer was developed that enables testing of hearing ability and directional hearing. With an additional surround extension, the system can also be used for pediatric audiometry.
Besides the technical development, it was important to have a reliable partner for manufacturing and the transition to series production – one able to largely complete and test the required assemblies and devices.
Our services
We support Auritec in both the technical development and the production of the system. Our tasks include hardware and layout development, design engineering, firmware and FPGA development, and providing the required PC drivers.
A key focus is complete manufacturing. We procure all required components, PCBs and enclosures. The PCBs are assembled in-house using SMD and THT technology. We then assemble the individual modules and sub-modules into the complete device.
Before delivery, the assemblies and devices are tested extensively. This ensures that the customer receives a tested system that it can then complete with its own software.
We also support Auritec with approval matters and carry out EMC pre-testing and pre-compliance tests. Together with the customer, we transferred the system into series production and continue to support further series planning and manufacturing.
Result
With IMM, Auritec has a partner that covers both the technical development and the complete procurement and manufacturing of the audiometer. Thanks to the combination of in-house electronics development, SMD and THT assembly, device assembly and comprehensive testing, the customer receives largely finished systems that it can complete with its own software.
The collaboration is ongoing. Another product for use by office-based ophthalmologists is already in the pipeline. For this project, too, we are supporting Auritec with planning, procurement and production.
